Coach Your Downline Recruits and Teach Them How to Succeed with Internet Marketing

Many people in affiliate programs seem to think that once the sale is made, their work is done. Affiliate Programs are highly dependent upon developing a motivated and knowledgeable downline. Don’t end your involvement with the close of the initial sale but stay involved with your downline, coaching and mentoring them.

People joining affiliate programs tend to have big goals, but sometimes they fail anyway.

Reasons Why People Fail to Become Successful Affiliates:

There are three main reasons why people fail to adapt to change, especially technological change:

  1. Lack of Skills
  2. Lack of Knowledge
  3. Fear

Adopt the “Coach” Role & Mindset:

If you adopt the mindset of a “Coach,” you can dramatically improve your Downline’s performance along all three lines.

When someone joins an affiliate program there is generally a fairly big learning curve to overcome – new product(s) such as the just-released MaxPro System, new technology, and virtual relationships, all of which are especially problematic if your new recruit is a novice in the world of internet marketing (or marketing in general).  There will be a whole new language to learn, new tools and techniques to master, not to mention becoming an expert on the product they will be marketing.

If you ignore your new recruits, they can get very frustrated in a very short time due to information overload.  If you want your bottom line to grow, invest in helping your new recruits overcome the learning curve so they don’t get overly frustrated and just quit.

Your bottom line will be a lot bigger if you invest some time with your new Downline team members, coaching and mentoring them.  Be proactive: actively help your team learn the products, and learn about the technical support and other resources available to them.

Many of your new recruits will need help learning how to marekt your product in the new Web 2 world of internet Blogs and Social Communities, which are new to many people.

Don’t just sit around waiting for your downline to contact you for help, take the initiative and offer them help, especially at the beginning of your relationship with them.  Take the initiative to help your new recruits overcome their fear and buyer’s remorse.

Coaching is easier than you might think – you just need a positive attitude and a desire to build up your team members together with your proactive behavior.  The small investment of your time to coach your team will pay you big dividends.

Worauf es bei Coaching im Führungsverhalten ankommt

Coaching! Business-Coaching! Life-Coaching! Dann kommt noch Selbstcoaching und Führungscoaching! Der Begriff “Coaching” – kaum ein anderer ist zurzeit mehr präsent wenn es um Themen wie persönliche Veränderung oder Entwicklung geht! Was jedoch macht hier den Unterschied aus?

Der Wachstumsmarkt ist riesig, es gibt kaum einheitliche Richtlinien, dafür allerdings viel Raum und Möglichkeiten für Kritik und z.T. sogar Hohn. Die Frage, welche unweigerlich an die Oberfläche drängt und die auch mir immer häufiger gestellt wird, (bezeichne ich mich doch selbst als Results Coach) lautet: Was zeichnet Coaching bzw. gutes, oder sogar sehr gutes, Coaching eigentlich aus?

Viele Menschen suchen einen Coach weil sie ein Problem haben. Sie erwarten, dass der Coach das Problem FÜR sie löst. Die Probleme sind vielfältig und bekannt: “Ich bin so oft gestresst.“, „Meine Beziehung macht mich so unglücklich.” oder aber “Ich bekomme sowieso nie was ich möchte.” sind beliebte Statements. Um gleich mit einem beliebten Klischee aufzuräumen: Kein auch nur halbwegs professioneller oder guter Coach wird ein Problem für seinen Kunden lösen.

Und das nicht ohne Grund. Sollten Sie vielleicht eigene Kinder haben, könnten Sie die Antwort schon kennen. Natürlich wäre es der einfachste und schnellste Weg das Problem für das Kind zu lösen und es wieder zum Spielen zu schicken. Was tut das Kind wenn eine ähnliche (oder dieselbe) Situation wiederkehrt? Genau, es sucht Sie wieder auf. Lösen SIE das Problem noch einmal, so sehen Sie sich bald gemeinsam mit dem Kind, einer Reihe von neuen Problemen konfrontiert. Sie kreieren ein Abhängigkeitsverhältnis für das Kind, das Kind selbst wird zukünftig bei immer kleineren Problemen sofort  zum „Coach“ rennen und Sie selbst finden sich immer häufiger in der Rolle des elterlichen Problemlösers.

Eigenverantwortung? Keine!
Selbstständigkeit? Mitnichten!
Durchhaltevermögen und Widerstandsfähigkeit? Fehlanzeige!

Das sind “zufällig” Eigenschaften, die leider oft unzureichend ausgeprägt sind in der heutigen Zeit, die geprägt ist von Schnelllebigkeit, Ignoranz und Ablenkung, besonders dann wenn es um die Konfrontation mit unangenehmen Situationen geht. Die hier dargestellte Rolle der Eltern kann, je nach Lebenslage und Umständen auch der beste Freund, Nachbarn, Kollegen oder auch der Ehepartner sein.

Was wird von Ihnen benötigt bzw. der Kunde in dieser (oder in einer ähnlichen) Situation am meisten? Sie benötigen neuartige Optionen, alternative Blickwinkel und ganz besonders den Willen das Problem lösen zu wollen. Selber aus dem Weg zu schaffen! Ein effektiver Coach sorgt dafür, dass Sie.a. mit diesen “Zutaten”, meistens formuliert durch besondere Fragen: Andere Alternativen, Möglichkeiten und Blickwinkel. Die Gegenüberstellung von Problem und Lösung (Ist und Soll) erfolgt in einem Maß, dass der Kunde ausschließlich die neue Situation (die Lösung) als akzeptabel ansieht. Dann, und zwar NUR dann, wird unternommen, was letztlich zu einer Veränderung der ungewünschten Situation führt. Ob es nun um Führungsverhalten, Persönlichkeitstraining oder auch Methoden des Selbstcoaching geht.

Gutes Coaching ist erkennbar an messbaren Resultaten und sofortiger Veränderung (auch kleine Veränderungen sind Veränderungen), einer Atmosphäre von Vertrauen und dem Ziel, dem Kunden innerhalb kürzestmöglicher Zeit weiter zu helfen. Nur dann ist Coaching effektiv UND sinnvoll, nur dann lohnt sich das Investment und nur in diesem Fall besteht eine realistische Chance auf eine dauerhafte Veränderung. Nur dann bekommt Coaching den Wert, den es von Haus aus verdient:

Mike, you are completely correct in searching for a way to use this spiritual principle to grow your business.

Most important is knowing that it takes creativity, proactive effort, and old-fashioned hard work to provide value for others. It can’t simply be an emotion or an attitude. The feeling, or attitude is required, but only effective when backed up with action. You might remember in the teleseminar that I mentioned the importance of behaviors, not just thinking, to elevate results.

I would ask you this question:

What are some ways that you could be creating value that are simple to do, that you have allowed to become easy not to do?

This is a good starting place. If this triggers anything, than put it to work. You might take the three areas from the call: problem solving, gift giving, and distributing information, and ask yourself; what are the fastest, easiest ways you could apply these secrets. I use the words “fast” and “easy” because most people over-complicate the process of farming (giving value first, asking for business second).

It might be as little as making sure your assistant answers each phone call in a positive and uplifting way, vs. an unmonitored non-emotion-inducing approach.

It could be the difference between sending out a packet of free, applicable info to your prospects before you meet them for a sales presentation, so they are conditioned from the start to see you as an authority or expert.

Maybe it means hosting a telephone conference call for everyone in your sphere of influence, teaching them 4-7 ways to save money during tax season, or the 5 most common mistakes made by others in their field.

Summarizing the most Effective Pitching Workouts

Some coaches just don’t really understand proper pitching mechanics, and consequently end up having their pitchers dedicate a lot of their time performing drills that are not really very effective for improving pitching speed and accuracy. They probably also have their players lifting weights to build up arm strength, which really isn’t required in order to throw a faster pitch. The time dedicated to baseball pitching workouts could be much better spent if the coaches focused on the pitching mechanics and the way that the entire body can be used to generate explosive power to increase a pitcher’s velocity.

A few common components of most pitching workouts include baseball pitching drills, weight training, flat ground pitching, and stretching have actually been shown to make it more likely for pitchers to become injured or actually end up decreasing a pitcher’s velocity. This is because most of these drills and methods focus more on the arm than on the body as a whole. The best pitching comes from pitchers who use their entire body when they throw the pitch, and not just their arms. If you use your entire body for pitching, and use it with maximum effectiveness, your body should transfer through different positions, and if your body gets trained in how it feels to be in these positions, it it eventually feels natural to use the proper body mechanics to throw your pitches.

While this information has been proven in many studies, most coaches don’t realize it yet. That is why many coaches continue to have their pitchers waste the time spent in baseball pitching workouts with the methods that aren’t as useful in actually improving pitching. More and more people are learning about how important it is to use their whole bodies and the correct way of throwing a pitch via the use of pitching videos and manuals that you can find online.

Maybe, as more testing shows the typical pitching workout methods are not as effective as many believed, there will be more coaches switching to more effective baseball pitching workouts methods. Better workouts will focus on leading pitchers through pitching techniques, starting with the end and moving backwards, and on te process of using their bodies to produce the explosive power that can be generated during the throwing of a pitch if everything is done just right.
