I am Beautiful, I am Not a Liar

I was called as a piggy bank before. Because I was so fat then, I could eat the entire inside body of the fridge. I continued like that, and of course what do you expect? I became so fat then. I was advised by my nutritionist to have a diet. I tried it but then I was rushed to the hospital. Are you looking for some reasons? That is the fact that I was low blood then. The doctor prescribed medicines for me and then advised me not to work much because I am going to pressurise myself.

I am not used at relaxing alone so I asked the doctor about it. The doctor told me to do some light exercises on the ab fitness equipment that I have at the house. My small exercise ball also helped me to lose some weight because it became a nice additional workout tool for burning the fat around my belly. It eliminated some inches in my waist, and as a matter of fact, I am now working with some weight lifting already because the doctor told me that I am already fit to undergo some heavy exercises. Now, I can simultaneously work on my oblique exercise machine while lifting some heavy weights.

From light exercises, it was changed to heavy one. I cannot achieve what I have now without the abovementioned equipments. I am happier now because I am both a combination of beauty and health.

I promise to myself, I will never consider those anymore as sort of problems. Yes, being fat is not a problem, it is rather a sort of challenges that we must all take into consideration and to be given an action upon.

Positivity Speaks of Beauty After

Drinking carbonated drinks according to my friend will make me fat. I said to her before that it is alright, but as time passed by, I thought it was no longer right. That is the reason why I opt to look for some exercising equipments, and that destiny led me to a particular shop where lots of equipment were being displayed. My mind was then caught up by this chair-like equipment which I found out from a shop. Then I asked the assigned employee there as to the procedure of using it.

It is just so easy to use, right? You can very well use it. And since I got all of those already, I then bought one for me. Would you like to know how did it help me? Nothing else but the ab rocket. Now, I can say that my life now is a mixture of love, happiness, enjoy and living my life to the fullest. And that is due to my ab fitness equipment , with the inclusion of the one mentioned in the foregoing a while ago.

While I go to the gym everyday, I always see to it that there is one abdominal machine and a small exercise ball to workout with because these are important factors for me. It somehow gave me peace of mind and happiness that someone in the past who really made me hurt, will now learn his lesson. It is his own fault that he hurt me.

When I got home, I somehow told myself that I will share it to someone else for me to be of good example to my fellow friends. And it started at home, when my mom really got so fat because of her office work, which calls her to sit down always. After some weeks, her body became beautiful. We are now happy together with my mom. LOL!

What I did learn and what was eventually a catalyst to enabling me to eradicate the speech impediment was that I needed to start appreciating what I had in life. I had to stop being so hard on myself and at the same time work towards improving the areas of my life that I was not happy with.

I also had to stop stressing, panicking and worrying so much. My whole approach to life had to change; I was now going to start to think in a positive manner.

These were some massive changes that I was attempting to make to the way that I lived my life and I will not try and tell you that it was easy. Ultimately however all of the effort did pay off and I was able to achieve fluency and a real confidence.

Up until a few years ago many of my friends and family used to call me “a stress head”. Why you may well be thinking? Well quite simply because I seemingly stressed about anything and everything.

So what was the cause of all of this stress? Most of the problems were probably due to the fact that I had a stammer/stutter. This speech impediment had developed when I was at the age of four. As you may well imagine it is something that destroyed my overall confidence levels. Therapy for stuttering, at the time, was less than impressive which did not exactly help the situation.

Having a lack of confidence affected nearly all areas of my life; not just my speech. I would worry about what other people thought of me, I would stress about my height and my weight. I had a need or want, for some unknown reason, for people to like me. Looking back it all just sounds so crazy but it was like I was being controlled by some demonic force.

As I entered into my twenties I decided that enough was enough. I could no longer live in this way – there surely had to be more to life than this.

I was soon to realise that I was the only person who was going to sort my life out.

I started to work very hard at learning how to increase self-esteem for example. I also studied the ways in which the best fluent talkers were speaking in comparison to me in an attempt to eradicate the speech impediment.

Progress was far from quick however after around a year of battling against my demons I did manage to overcome the stutter and I did manage to discover ways to stop me stressing – it is all about attitude and the way we approach life – think positive and believe in yourself!

Confronting Monsters Under the Bed

It’s no secret that lots of kids don’t like bedtime. Sometimes it seems they’ll do anything not to hit the sheets. They want a glass of milk … another story … reassurance that there are no monsters in the closet. It's obvious that your child is anxious. How can you help children overcome any anxieties they might have, especially when you might not fully understand their bedtime-related worries?

It’s important to know that a lot of night-time fears are directly related to the dark. As children become more aware of danger, their fear of the dark increases. If you think your child’s unease at bedtime is due to her fear of the dark, you’re probably wondering what you can do. According to Dr. Jane Nelsen, Ed. D., co-author of Positive Discipline A-Z, it’s a good idea to get your child to open up about their fears. Talking can help them think everything through. “The more capable a child feels, the less likely she is to be afraid,” Dr. Nelsen said in a recent parents.com article. But remember: kids have pretty active imaginations, so you won't be able to rationalize their fears. As parents, the best thing we can do is be patient and listen to kids' concerns, whatever they may be.

We've come up with additional ideas to help to chase those monsters out of the closet:

– Shine some light on the problem: Create a comfortable environment for your child by getting them a nightlight. When they can see what is beyond their bed, the dark will no longer be such a frightening mystery.

– Get crafty: According to clinical psychologist Madeleine Nathan, Ph.D., giving your child “magic” tools to banish “magical” creatures might help. Just like in Judy Blume’s “Fudge” book series, you could make some “Monster Spray." Get an inexpensive spray bottle and fill it with water. Label it as “Monster Spray” and explain to your child that this spray repels monsters instantly.

– Poetic license: You could come up with a funny rhyme to banish the bogeyman. Tell your child that the rhyme is an enchantment used by wizards against night-time creatures. Once the rhyme is recited, check the closet or under the bed and show your child how his words scared any monsters away.

When coming up with ways to combat the "monster under the bed" problem, you can also draw on books you have read with your child. For example, kids probably already know that the Paper Bag Princess defeated the dragon (The Paper Bag Princess by Robert Munsch), and that Max was made king of the “Wild Things” (Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak) – in short, that monsters are what we make them … and they can be put in their place.
