You can now find a number of flights from the UK to South Africa. You can place a reservation from any of the following airports. London (LON), London Heatthrow, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle and Birmingham. All flights departing from these airports can take you to Cape Town International Airport. Most of these flights will however have at least one stop over before reaching the Cape.

Some airlines you can consider booking with are The KLM, which flies via Amsterdam, The South African airways, which has one stop in Johannesburg; Virgin Atlantic also makes a stop in Johannesburg. Another option that you have is Air France, even though it has two stop overs i.e. flies to Cape Town via Paris De Gaulle and Johannesburg. If you are looking for a non-stop flight, then consider booking the British Airways.

of the above mentioned flights flights, KLM is the cheapest and Air France is one of the most expensive. Of course it would be hard to specify the figures as these change according to the time of the year. You can get the prices from a comparison website though.

As for time of departure, KLM lives London at 06:30 and arrives at Amsterdam at 09:05. Upon arrival it takes off for Cape Town and arrives in South Africa at 22:30 on the same day. Total flight time is about 13 hours and 5 minutes.

Whilst the SAA flight will leave London at 18.00 hrs and touch down in Johannesburg at 07.25 hrs the next day. It will then depart for Cape Town at 09.00hrs and arrive at 11.10hrs.

The non-stop air flight to Cape Town lives London at 16:45 and arrives there at 06:15 the following day. You can get up to date airfares and more information how you can make your travel arrangements from any of the following:

There are few places in South Africa that have a variety of naturally occurring tourist attractions like the Western Cape in South Africa. This is one place that you can visit without a plan because of the many choices to choose from. There is the popular Garden Route which travels along Indian Ocean coastline going through the Tsitsikamma and Outeniqua Mountains towards the mainland. It has a a variety of bird’s species, sunny beaches and attractive blue lagoons.

For flights schedules, rates and routes to South Africa and within South Africa check out any of these: flights from cape town to durban, fly cape town to mmabatho, fly durban to cape town

The Winelands

Here you can visit any the beautiful towns of Paarl, Stellenbosch or Franschoek, some of the buildings in these towns are centuries old and are quite an amazing sight. You can get a chance to visit some of the best wine cellars and dine in some of the best restaurants in the Cape.

The West Coast

On the shores of the West Coast is where you will be treated to the best of South African hospitality. Any of the restaurants you choose to dine in will offer you a wide array of seafood and fish, all this served with the best lavish wine you can find. Here you will have a beautiful view of the ocean and the range of mountains.

The Garden Route

This is also another part of the town that offers a lot in terms of sight seeing. The beautifully styled and modern beach front houses and the orthodox colonial style houses of this place will keep you in this part of town longer than you would expect. The atmosphere is just good for those who want that fresh country side feeling in a modern environment.

There are just so many other places that you could visit and see in the Western Cape; once you get there you will know what I mean. Like I said earlier it is one of the few places in the country that still has such a diverse and well preserved environment. The Western Cape is just one place that you will only get to appreciate after being there for yourself.

The flight time from Manchester to Cape Town will depend on the particular airline. This means that there is no fixed time that you will find but you can get an idea by looking at individual flights. another thing is you might want to consider the total time for the journey or just the time you spend in the air.

Having explained the time concepts involved lets look at the flight times of the top Airlines.

The British Airways offers the shortest time to Cape Town from Manchester. The time that is spent on air travel is 12 hours and 35 minutes. Transfer time is one hour 30 minutes overall (1h30m), which makes the total journey to be fourteen hours and five minutes (14h05m).

The South African Airways takes fourteen hours and ten minutes, which is almost similar to the British Airways. Of this time 12 hours and 55 minutes constitutes time in the air and 1 hour and 15 minutes is time in between flights.

The third shortest flight time, Manchester to Cape Town is with Virgin Atlantic. This flight has one stop from Manchester i.e. at London Heathway and from there it flies straight to Cape Town. Time for air travel on this flight is 13 hours. The transfer time is two hours and 40 minutes (2h40m), which makes the overall journey to be fifteen hours and forty minutes (15h40).

Lufthansa Airlines takes about sixteen hours overall, Emirates nearly 20 hours overall flight time, Manchester to Cape Town and Air France about eighteen hours.

You will be able to view current flight times, air airfares and routes at any one of these:

There are many flights that are available to South Africa and you have a choice of three arrival destinations in South Africa, which is Cape Town, Durban and OR Tambo International Airport which is in Johannesburg. You will find that most flights that are destined for either Durban or Cape Town will pass through Johannesburg anyway.

If you can schedule your trip to be between the months of June and December you might be able to get a discounted air fare. For the most part of the year visitors are just so many as they try to get away from the rains and the winter season. Traveling mid week that is on any of the days between Monday and Thursday will also get you lower airfares at a discount.

Information regarding flights to South Africa can be got from many places on the internet. There are travel tour companies that can arrange and book your flights for you and even take care of your accommodation requirements if you want. If you can order your ticket online then you will be quoted a lower air fare and also bookings made in advance also qualify for a discount. Basically making a booking two weeks in advance of your departure date qualifies to be called an advance booking.

Of the flights that do go to South Africa you have the connecting flights and the direct flights. Unless you are in a hurry for an important business meeting, flying direct will always cost you more money than connecting flights. If you compare the arrival times of the direct and connecting flights its normally less than three hours.

The Air fares also vary according to the time of the year that it is. That is why it is difficult to supply you with air fare information although it might be possible to get estimates at any one of the following:

Flights From Port Elizabeth To Durban
