The Blood Elves were determined to create an existence for themselves, a new start.

Their power and influence grew as they settled into their new home, drawing much power from the Sunwell’s mystical energies. They fed on this power, using it to develop their powers to defend themselves from many of the harsh inhabitants of the world around them.

When people start talking about PvP combat, it soon becomes clear that there are various settings where it can happen. Duels

Duels are voluntary one-on-one battles. You can duel pretty much anywhere you want, except within cities. You’ll often find players who are looking for a duel hanging around outside the entrances to major cities looking for someone to challenge.

The Battlegrounds

The battlegrounds are areas where Horde and Alliance compete to earn marks. You can use marks sort of like money, and trade them in for various items, including better PvP gear. You can only use marks at the special PvP vendor shops.

Arenas

Arena combat is organized team versus team combat in the form of an ongoing tournament. Teams (2v2, 3v3, 5v5) battle against other teams of the opposing faction as well as against teams of their own faction. You become a member of a team to fight in the arena and earn Arena Points as a team.

Random PvP

Any time you encounter a player from the other faction who has their PvP flag on, you can do battle with them. In PvP realms, that flag is always set, except in a few protected areas, you’re always open to attack.
