The term ‘exotic weapons’ can and has been applied to arms which go beyond the realms of conventional design to offer the user a distinct advantage or capability in a combat situation. Some of the most significant advances in modern weaponry and tactics have been made when people have improved traditional ideas out of necessity or by intuition. Some of the most exotic weapons ever built and used for home defense purposes are contained below in the Top 5 list we’ve made.

1. Air-Powered .30 Cal Light Machine Gun (LMG)

Advantage:  Extreme Fire Power

This LMG was built in the early 1990s by Jeff Caselman and has high rates of fire and power. As a result of the 32 ACP power, the .30 caliber 30 shot magazine empties quickly. This hand-held rifle-size LMG is equally valuable for survival and defense in close quarters and medium-long distance situations because of its fully functioning rate of fire selection.

2. British Standard Pipe (BSP) 9mm Homemade Sub-Machine Gun (SMG)

3. Electro-Mechanical Chemical Pistol

This improved chemical pistol is operated and fired using an advanced electro–mechanical system. The tank–like handle of the weapon is designed to contain the chemical to be discharged. The weapon can be aimed like a regular pistol toward the target with a second option to ignite the chemical during discharge because of the dual–action trigger-mechanism for first discharging the chemical from a nozzle in the barrel. This weapon carries extremely effective ammunition which means that its very presence will act as a deterrent to those opposing the user.

This foldable weapon’s diminutive size and unassuming appearance make it ideal for subtle defense purposes. It includes a magazine casing and stock pivotally mounted to a receiver assembly and uses 9mm rounds. It is semi-automatic and can be very effectively hidden in a pocket or jacket.

5. Multipurpose Rifle/Assault Rifle

Advantage: Variable Configurations

This multipurpose weapon has a self-loading high caliber rifle component with an assault module attached to the front. Therefore, it has high power and various rates of fire. This weapon has two trigger assemblies, a first trigger assembly of the high caliber rifle is positioned by the user’s dominant hand while a second trigger assembly of the assault module is positioned by the user’s other hand. Offering the user a distinct advantage over lesser caliber weapons and the ability to choose the best configuration for a variety of situations, this weapon acts as both an assault rifle and as a high-caliber rifle.
